Broadmoor High School has instituted an incoming Freshman Academy with the hopes of instilling the right attitudes and habits in our 9th graders that will give them the best chance to be successful in their "voyage" through high school. They are placed with teams of core subject teachers that will work together try to assure a smooth transition from middle school to high school and increase their chances of being productive CREW members of the Buccaneer family.
To foster these efforts we provide opportunities, such as Honor Roll ID’s at mid term and Honor Roll breakfasts at the end of each 6 weeks grading period. We also have Final exam exemption policy - based on attendance, grades, discipline, and Edusoft test scores. Our core teachers also recommend students to serve on the Academy Advisory Council, which discusses various topics related to the CREW Academy and give their student viewpoints and insights. We also encourage our CREW to participate in extracurricular activities as further motivation to do their best in the classroom.
